1/7/2024 0 Comments Iwrite contestShe was fortunate enough to find a degree program that allowed her to split her hours between Curriculum and Instruction and English, so she is now teaching Dual Credit Composition courses through her local community college. She taught for 13 years before deciding to pursue her MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Angelo State University. In previous years, she has also taught AP Language and Composition and worked with the College Board for two years as an AP Reader.Īmber attended Howard Payne University where she received her BA in English. This will be Amber Kennedy's 14th year teaching, and she is currently teaching Pre-AP English II and Dual Credit Composition I and II. Oh, and trying to keep up with her husband and two sons. Outside of the classroom, she can be found reading, cooking new and exciting recipes, and chasing after her Labradoodle puppy, Gladys. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is currently a curriculum writer for Northwest Independent School District, a Professional Learning Community Lead Teacher for both On-Level English III and OnRamps, and the senior events coordinator responsible for senior activities such as senior sunrise, prom, senior picnic, and senior sunset. While teaching in Irving ISD she also sponsored the spirit organization, Tiger Fever. Before moving to the Trophy Club area, Melissa taught in Irving ISD as a 6th grade ELA teacher, an English I teacher, and a Literacy Coach. She currently teaches On-Level English III and OnRamps Rhetoric 306 and 309K through The University of Texas at Austin, at Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, Texas. She has taught grades 6, 10, 11, and 12 in ELA and written curriculum and assessment for grades 9-12. Melissa Granger is currently in the middle of her 21st year teaching English.
